Renaissance Hotels

Renaissance Hotels were originally founded as Ramada Renaissance Hotels in 1982 the upscale segment of the Ramada Inns, Inc., which eventually established Renaissance as a stand-alone brand. In 1989 the bulk of the Ramada hospitality and franchise system was acquired by New World Development Company of Hong Kong (the U.S., or domestic rights to the Ramada name were sold to Prime Hospitality), and the former Ramada Corp. was renamed Aztar Corp. In 1996 New World acquired Stouffer Hotels Co. from Nestle, folded it into the Renaissance chain and took the expanded management and franchising company public, while retaining ownership of many of the individual hotels through its CTF Holdings subsidiary. In 1997 Marriott acquired the Netherlands-incorporated Renaissance Hotel Group N.V., and retained the Renaissance brand, while eventually shedding the Ramada International business in phases to Cendant Corp. In 2005 Marriott acquired most of the remaining New World/CTF owned Renaissance Hotels in North America and Europe, with the intent of selling them under long-term management and franchise contracts.

New York-New York Hotel & Casino

New York-New York uses the New York City influence of its name in several ways. Its architecture is meant to evoke the New York City skyline; the hotel includes several towers configured to resemble New York City towers such as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. In front of the property is a lake representing New York Harbor, with a 150-foot-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty, and replicas of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Ellis Island, and Grand Central Terminal.Within the resort, particular gambling areas, lounges, restaurants, and meeting rooms are named after New York City neighborhoods or landmarks. The main casino area, for example, is named after Central Park, while the shops are modeled after Greenwich Village.
The resort is located on the northwest corner of the Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection. At street level, pedestrians are blocked from crossing by concrete barriers. Instead, New York-New York is linked by overhead pedestrian bridges to its neighboring casinos to the south (the Excalibur, across Tropicana Avenue) and to the east (the MGM Grand, across the Strip).

Treasure Island

Treasure Island (also known as "ti") is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, USA with 2,664 rooms and 220 suites, and is connected by tram to adjacent The Mirage as well as pedestrian bridge to the Fashion Show Mall shopping center. Since March 2009, the ti is owned and operated by real estate investor Phil Ruffin. The hotel has received the AAA Four Diamond rating each year since 1998.
Treasure Island was opened by Mirage Resorts in 1993 under the direction of Steve Wynn at a cost of $450 million. It was designed by architect Joel Bergman. The initial plans called for a tower addition to The Mirage, but later evolved into a full-fledged separate hotel casino resort. Treasure Island originally intended to attract families with whimsical pirate features and icons such as the skull-and-crossbones strip marquee, a large video arcade, and staged pirate battles nightly in "Buccaneer Bay" in front of the casino entrance on the Strip. In 2003, the hotel largely abandoned its pirate theme for a more contemporary resort in efforts to focus more on adults. The original arcade and kid-friendly pool areas were replaced with an adult-friendly hot tub, contemporary nightclub and party bar. The famous skull-and-crossbones sign at the Strip entrance was replaced by one reading simply "ti" that is also a large LCD video screen. On July 4, 2008, Christian Audigier The Nightclub replaced the Tangerine Nightclub. On December 15, 2008, MGM Mirage announced the resort would be sold for US$775 million to Phil Ruffin, former owner of the New Frontier Hotel and Casino. Ruffin took full ownership of the hotel and casino resort on Friday, March 20, 2009.

The Vdara was the first tower at CityCenter, and opened on December 1, 2009.The Vdara was the first of the six high-rises in the project to be topped out, on May 14, 2008.
The Vdara towers 57 stories above the Las Vegas Strip. All 1,495 hotel suites feature a gourmet kitchen, and many suites have a washer and dryer. The Vdara is one of the new generation properties on the Strip that has no theme and was built strictly as a luxury resort destination. The name "Vdara" was thought up by the property’s original designers, according to Tara Russell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Vdara. The "V" stands for "Vegas" and "ara" is meant to evoke other established high-end boutique hotels, such as the Aviara or Vicara.
